I am planning a skiing trip for next March and I'd like some input. I am a somewhat advanced skier looking for a new place to try. The tourist sites say that Jackson Hole is great, but I'd like opinions from you skiers out there...any other recommendations would be fine. Thanks.

Ski Utah
Utah is better. Jackson is steep and icy. I love Park City Mountain Resort, Snowbird and Snowbasin. Great powder, varied terrain.

Jackson is steep and advanced so if you are learning to ski it is probably not where you want to go. It's rated one of the most difficult mountains to ski in North America...as far as icy goes I didn't ski a single icy day this past winter and I skied over 50 days at Jackson. We had over 600 inches of snow at the mountain and it was non-stop powder days.

OK, this looks like Utah vs Wyoming! In all seriousness, if you are an advanced skier then I would definitely opt for Jackson. Not only do you have Teton Village but you have Snow King as well. You will find far more advanced runs and a heck of alot more scenic beauty in Jackson than in Park CIty, Snowbird and Snowbasin.
I don't know where Jess in Layton, UT was skiing but we have very little icy conditions in Jackson. He must have hit a bad day but all ski areas get the occasional ice day. The trail groomers are the best in Jackson and the runs are amazing. I have 4 kids and have taught them all to ski here. I feel if they learn here then can ski anywhere.
